Most of us know what we like when it comes to our hijabs: We favor chiffons or jerseys, maybe wovens. We like a rectangle over a square, or prefer prints over solids. Maybe we’re a ride-or-die neutral colors person, sticking to pallets of blush, beige and black. We know what we like, and we know what works for us. But here’s our question with this November edit: What’s your next hijab move?

In the blink of an eye, years can pass with us choosing the same hijab style and modestwear that works for us and we feel comfortable in. And, there is nothing wrong with that. Once you find a look (or series of looks) that works for you, one in which you feel comfortable, beautiful, modest and powerful, sticking with it is probably the best thing you can do.

But, and stick with us here, how did you come upon that hijab style, that series of looks, that type of modestwear that works for you? Does it make you feel beautiful, confident and powerful? Did you find it through trying different things – possibly seeing how other women dressed and identifying what you liked about, having internal conversations about what you wanted in your modest dressing and hijab style and then putting it all together through trial and error?

Sometimes, in trying something slightly out of your comfort zone, you will find a new style or hijab to add to your arsenal of what works for you. This is what we’re thinking in developing new hijabs and products to add to your hijab repertoire, such as our new Fine Pleat Hijabs.

We’re focusing on the Fine Pleat Hijab in this edit, however when it comes to figuring out your next hijab move, you can choose any type of hijab that is different from what you normally wear in order to explore a different style and feel. Right now, though, let’s talk about the Fine Pleat hijab, since pleating is a different texture than what we’ve brought to you in the past. Let us breakdown the deets about this hijab to help you understand how to wrap it better:

Pleats are a type of fold in a fabric that can take on many looks, the basic being when the fabric is “folded back on itself, thereby creating an accordion-like appearance.” While we didn’t invent pleated hijabs, what elevates ours is the stunning crepe fabric, which has a special weight and drape to it that doesn’t make it feel overly heavy on your head but rather has a luxurious feel in how it brings an understated texture to your look with an elegant drape.

The fabric chosen for this pleat hijab was done so because you need a particular type of material and fiber to retain the pleat, which is created through a machine and helps ensure that the pleating stays immaculate and fresh.

This hijab is also 100 percent opaque and does not need to be folded or doubled to be worn. It also runs shorter than our standard hijab size, at 60 X 16 inches, providing enough material for beautiful coverage while not so much that you find yourself having to wrap this hijab multiple times.

If you’re a woman who loves to secure the hijab under your chin and toss an end over your shoulder – styling this hijab should be a breeze for you! If you’re a woman who loves a little front drape or extra coverage, this hijab can also be for you!
