It’s in the chilly month of January, when the winter holidays are behind us and all the work we put off until the new year must be dealt with, that we can’t help but think about the coming of spring. The freshness of spring scents, the newness of spring growth, and the beauty of spring colors flowing through our hijabs and our fits.

Spring 2024 color trends are out and the Pantone 2024 color of the year is a beauty that is already in rotation in our Haute Hijab collections – Peach Fuzz! “A velvety and gentle peach. Sensitive but sweet and airy. Softly nestled between pink and orange.” This is how 

 is describing the trendy hue, called Pantone 13-1023, of 2024.

For 25 years now, Pantone has been convening with a group of global color analysts to select a singular shade that will sum up the year. These largely anonymous decision makers meet in “white-walled rooms to avoid any accidental influence over color discussions, remain largely anonymous. “I can’t tell you the names,” David Shah, a publisher and designer who runs the meetings, 

. “They’re involved with everything from furniture through to clothing and knitwear.”

The choosing of the color of the year is influenced by a number of things, from “trends in the entertainment industry to emerging lifestyles and upcoming sporting events,” said Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute 

. “To arrive at the selection each year, our team of color experts at the Pantone color institute comb the world looking for new color influences.”

Peach Fuzz was chosen this year not just based on analyzing the usual trends, but more so in response to global turmoil. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute said 

 “An idea as much as a feeling, Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz awakens our senses to the comforting presence of tactility and cocooned warmth.”

Comfort and warmth. Surely we can all use more of that. Peach Fuzz is a blend of the coolness of pinks with the warmth of orange, and if you want to add this 2024 color of the year to your hijab wardrobe, we have several options for you.

As 2023 comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past year with you. A few weeks ago, at one of our all-hands meetings, we were talking about how this year was full of crazy ups and downs, both for us as well as the global community. To say it’s been hard doesn’t begin to cover what everyone is going through, especially oppressed and targeted communities around the world.

The past few months alone, with the genocide in Gaza, has shaken us as Muslims (and humans) to our core, and we’ve been vocally expressing our horror at what is happening in real time on our social media accounts as well as engaging in charitable projects to do whatever we can to help support Palestinians and call for a ceasefire.

This comes months after our hearts were shook by the enormous devastation in northern Turkey and Syria in the wake of two horrific earthquakes last spring, leaving thousands upon thousands dead and even more displaced. Our 

CEO Melanie traveled to Turkey with Islamic Relief USA

 to bear witness and fundraise for relief efforts, which we continued prioritizing through Ramadan.

It is because of you that we are able to raise money for the causes and social justice movements that mean so much to all of us. With your support, we were able to raise thousands for earthquake relief in Turkey and Syria last spring through your direct donations and shopping dollars while learning in-depth about what 

relief works looks like in the wake of a devastating natural disaster

When France banned the abaya for women in public schools in September, we covered the story as part of our #CantBanUs campaign and offered free hijabs to our HH Fam in France. Your fierce support of our work around hijab bans helped facilitate this! (Check out

And in the backdrop of all this was what we are actually here to do: Design, create and provide you with the very best hijabs and hijab products to help your lives and experiences as Muslim women. That is the reason Haute Hijab exists: to create a world where every woman feels her most comfortable, most beautiful, most faith-filled and most powerful self.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude and love to you – our Haute Hijab fam. We exist to serve you and your hijab needs, but we also exist to serve you and our community of fabulous women in a community-building capacity. It’s one of the foundation pillars of this company. And so we're a hijab company, but sometimes that entails going hard on the causes that strike deep in our hearts and affect our 

Your support throughout all this means the world. You’ve stuck with us through thick and thin, through our ups and downs and our striving to serve. It is because of you and your continued support and encouragement that we are ready to launch several new products in 2024, including a new product category!

Each and everyone of us at Haute Hijab – from our product development team to our operations team to our marketing department to our blog and content team to our Founder Melanie – want to extend our love, prayers and appreciation to you. Everything we brainstorm, research, design and develop is with your best interests in mind, and we cannot wait for the coming year to show you what we’ve been up to!

Dear HH Fam, Sending You All The Love and Gratitude As We Close Out This Year

(supplication) hold a pivotal place, serving as sources of guidance, solace and spiritual nourishment. The Quran is more than a religious text. It is a comprehensive guide for life, addressing aspects from morality to law, personal conduct to community welfare.

Allah (S) says, "This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah." [Al-Baqarah 2:2] The act of reading the Quran, therefore, is not just a ritual but a transformative experience, offering insights and wisdom for all facets of life.

Du’a is a Muslim's way of asking for Allah's (S) help or forgiveness. It demonstrates a person's dependence on Allah (S) and is a testament to their trust in His (S) plan. The Prophet (saw) said, "Du'a is worship." [Tirmidhi] Muslims express their deepest desires, fears and gratitude through du’a, fostering a personal and emotional connection with Allah (S).

As we approach 2024, we – the Haute Hijab team – think that the most appropriate way to see 2023 out is sharing Quran 

or du’as that we held deep in our souls the past year, and which we intend to carry with us into the new year. This practice underscores the profound impact of Islamic teachings on daily life and personal growth. And as you read the Quran ayahs and du’as we chose, you’ll see that many of us chose the same ones, though what we gained from these particular verses differ from person to person.

Ending the year with a focus on the Quran and du’a represents our collective commitment to spiritual growth, self-reflection and living a life aligned with Islamic principles. Each chosen verse or du’a carries personal significance, reflecting individual journeys and aspirations.

As a Palestinian, the verses I'm choosing are very relevant and tied to the genocide happening in Gaza – as well as the calamities that struck different parts of the world throughout this year. From major earthquakes, to civil wars, to other genocides (like in Congo), these two ayahs keep coming to mind over and over again, and they're what give me solace. What a stark reminder this year has been about the temporary state of this 

, and a constant reminder that we were created for the afterlife. That is the true life.

Those who are martyred are good. They are in the highest of heavens with Allah (S) "rejoicing in Allah's bounties". It is painful for us to watch on our end, but Allah (S) gives us reassurance that there is no suffering for them. It helps me to not despair.

The second verse I would like to reflect on is actually a few verses down from the above two verses of Surah Imran:

Over and over again I have watched the people of Gaza remind themselves – in the face of death and destruction and profound loss that is hard to comprehend – they keep repeating 

 Allah (S) alone is sufficient for us and He is the best protector. Over and over again this is on their tongues. And so over and over again, it's on my tongue.

Allah (S) is sufficient for us. Allah is the best protector. He knows. He sees. There will be a day of reckoning. He knows. He sees. He is enough for us. He is the best protector. Without Allah (S)'s reassurances, we would surely have fallen into despair.

Hasbiya Allahu wa ni'ma alwakeel. Alhamdulillah.

Currently, The Quran verse in my head is 

 (حَسْبُنَا اللَّـهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ) It’s been so tough to bear witness to a genocide. Yet, the Palestinians in Gaza suffering from death and destruction continue to express the strength of their faith over the calamities they are experiencing as they say this exact prayer over and over again.

To have this level of unwavering belief that Allah (S) alone is sufficient for us and He (S) is the best disposer of affairs is empowering and freeing! Despite any hardships or uncertainties when it comes to my family, health or major life changes, this prayer calms my heart, and I know that eventually things will be okay because Allah (S) is in control.

The first two months of the war on Gaza felt like an everlasting funeral at home. I found it hard to carry on with my day-to-day tasks. My two young children’s needs were the only thing pulling me to go through the motions of our daily routine. My mind, heart and soul were in a different space than my body. I couldn’t comprehend, or understand what was happening, what is still happening, so I held on to the only thing I knew to be true.

One thing that I know will never fail me. Only one thing mattered to me in that phase of processing my grief, and that was to turn to the promise and reassurance of the only one who has full control over all affairs, Allah (S). In my despair, confusion and heartache, the words of Allah (S), 

Also, “Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.” [3:173] As we enter 2024, these words are my anchor as my people continue to endure an ethnic cleansing and fight for their freedom.

Surah Asr has consistently been one of my favorite surahs in recent years. As someone who often procrastinates, this surah serves as a powerful reminder to use my time wisely and constructively. It emphasizes the loss of time, which motivates me to take action and stop delaying my tasks.

Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs

Prophet Muhammad (saw) was recorded saying to a man who asked, “'How can I feel at ease when the Angel of the Trumpet has put his lips to the Trumpet and is waiting for the order to blow it?' He perceived as if this had shocked his Companions, so he told them to seek comfort through reciting: 

This du'a is from Surah Al Imran, verse 173, which states, 


This Quran verse has been all over social media the past several months as the genocide in Gaza and strife in other parts of the world have gripped our hearts. And really, this is a verse that has been carrying me in 2023, which is yet another year that has shown me that I am not in control, that I can plan, but Allah (S) is the best of planners. That whatever Allah (S) deems to be sufficient for us, we must find our contentment in that. He is, indeed, the best disposer of affairs.

As you're reading this, my family and I are in Makkah for Umrah, Alhamdullilah. But we were unable to bring our profoundly autistic eldest son with us, and that has been the biggest vice-grip around my heart. My husband and I went for Hajj nearly 20 years ago, and I still remember what I prayed for when I first saw the Ka'ba. My prayer hasn't been answered exactly how I asked for it. But I am content, because it is being answered in a way that is best for me, for my kids, for my son. To be content in Allah's (S) will is the hardest and best thing we can do.

As I approach 2024, the ayah from the Quran, "Say (on My behalf), 'O servants of Mine who have acted recklessly against their own selves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy. Surely, Allah will forgive all sins. Surely, He is the One who is the Most-Forgiving, the Very-Merciful.'”[39:53] holds a profound significance for me. This verse is a powerful beacon of hope and forgiveness, reminding me that no matter the mistakes I've made or the challenges I face, the mercy and forgiveness of Allah (S) are always accessible.

It reinforces the importance of seeking forgiveness and maintaining hope, especially when I am burdened by my shortcomings or the difficulties of life. As I step into the new year, this message of divine compassion and endless mercy is a guiding light, inspiring me to maintain an optimistic outlook and a renewed dedication to my personal and spiritual development.

Heading into 2024, this verse becomes particularly meaningful in the context of my work with a racial equity nonprofit. It embodies the principles of compassion, mercy, and forgiveness that are crucial in my interactions and efforts. The ethos of this ayah aligns with the values of understanding, tolerance and the capacity to forgive, not just personally but also in the wider societal sphere. 

In a world often rife with division and injustice, this message of the Quran offers a path toward healing and unity. It inspires me to approach my work and daily life with a heart that reflects these divine qualities, reminding me that every individual has the potential for redemption and change. This encourages me to adopt a more empathetic and inclusive approach in all my endeavors as I navigate the year ahead.

As we embrace 2024, let us carry with us the wisdom of the Quran and the power of du’a, allowing them to illuminate our paths and enrich our souls.


Entering the New Year With the Quran Verses & Du'as That Carried Haute Hijab Through

We’re wrapping up 2023 with heart wrenching stories of hope and perseverance against the ongoing backdrop of the Israel-Gaza war. Haute Hijab is highlighting 10 notable Muslim women who are bringing awareness to the atrocities around the world, breaking barriers in sports, creating communities of care for women of color and so much more, all while holding onto great courage.

We are bringing you Muslim journalists, activists, judges and scientists from 2023 who are making a difference in the world – even risking their safety to bring people news from the ground. These women display what it means to have grace and dignity while practicing their faith, showing us that Muslim women are at the center of documenting history as it unfolds.

In compiling this list we agonized over who to ultimately include, because as is the inherent problem with lists like these, there are so many Muslim women who accomplished a variety of things and affected change in 2023. But we did our best! We also know that there's a chance that not everyone on this list is Muslim, such as some of the women journalists in Gaza. (Because we weren't able to confirm.) Nevertheless, their work is extraordinary in sharing the stories of Palestinian Muslims, Christians and Gazans alike.

 from the ongoing genocide according to the health ministry in Gaza. Palestinian Journalists 

, 25, have put their lives on the line to document what’s happening on the ground in Gaza. Through social media, they (along with other journalists) have updated the world on the deaths, realities and chaos, providing a crucial view into the chaos and violence Gazans have been subjected to on the ground.

Earlier in the conflict, Plestia showed videos from her home while there was shelling nearby, documented people moving about Palestine for shelter ahead of forced evacuations, and reported from inside of hospitals in dire conditions. She was one of five people 

 for their “vital role” in documenting what’s unfolding in Gaza. Plestia previously oversaw the English Media Club, part of 

, an independent, non-profit media institution that helps teach people English to cover media topics.

Bisan Owda, a documentary filmmaker, is known for updating the world with near-daily videos in which she begins with, “This is Bisan. I’m still alive.” She shares with her three million followers (across various social media platforms) the gruesome 

 of trying to report on the ground, while simultaneously seeking shelter, living in refugee camps, and nearly missing being hit by Israeli bombs.

Hind Khoudary works as a freelance reporter for Turkey’s Andalou news. She shares pictures of the ongoing conflict and destroyed markets, hospitals and neighborhoods. She told TIME magazine that it’s exhausting to keep up, and that “to report and live the same exact thing is very overwhelming.”

2. Professor Jackie Yi-Ru Ying – winner of the King Faisal Prize for Medical and Science Laureates.

Professor Jackie Yi-Ru Ying was distinguished as a

 recipient of the prestigious King Faisal Prize for Medical Sciences

, an accolade that honors exceptional contributions in science and medicine. A trailblazer in her domain, Professor Ying's groundbreaking research and innovations have significantly advanced the frontiers of biomedical science. Her work, which encompasses the development of novel nanotechnology platforms for drug delivery and diagnostics, has been pivotal in offering new therapeutic strategies for various diseases.

This recognition underscores Professor Ying's profound impact on the scientific community and highlights her role as an inspiration for aspiring scientists globally. Her achievements are a testament to her dedication to enhancing healthcare through scientific innovation, and her selection for this esteemed prize reflects the global significance of her contributions. 

Professor Ying's career, marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and application of cutting-edge science for the betterment of human health, makes her a deserving laureate of the King Faisal Prize, further cementing her status as a leading figure in medical science and research. 

Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a prominent figure in American politics, has become widely recognized for her unwavering dedication to the Palestinian cause. As the first woman of Palestinian descent elected to the U.S. Congress, Tlaib's personal and professional journey is intrinsically linked to her advocacy for Palestinian rights. Her efforts extend beyond mere political rhetoric; she actively supports policies and resolutions that aim to address the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Tlaib's commitment is rooted in her own heritage, lending a deeply personal dimension to her political endeavors. Despite facing significant opposition and criticism, 

including censure from fellow members of Congress

, she remains steadfast in her mission. This resilience reflects her broader commitment to human rights and social justice, hallmarks of her career in public service.

Tlaib's stance on the Palestinian issue has not been without controversy, particularly within the halls of Congress. Her outspoken support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement and criticism of Israeli policies have sparked debates on the balance between advocating for Palestinian rights and maintaining strong U.S.-Israel relations. These positions led to several censure attempts (one being successful) by some of her congressional colleagues, highlighting the contentious nature of Middle East policy in American politics. 

Yet, Tlaib's resolve in the face of such challenges underscores her dedication to what she perceives as a fight for justice and equality. Combining personal experience with political activism, her approach continues to shape the discourse around the Palestinian cause in the U.S., showcasing the power of representation and the impact of personal conviction in the political arena. 

4. Tunisian tennis star Ons Jabeur and basketballer Fitriya Mohamed

Muslim women in American sports are increasingly becoming prominent figures, breaking barriers and challenging long-standing stereotypes in a realm traditionally dominated by men. Their rising presence is a testament to their exceptional skills and symbolizes a broader shift towards inclusivity and diversity in sports. This change is being led by remarkable athletes like 

 in tennis and Fitriya Mohamed in basketball, who are excelling in their respective sports and changing the narrative around what it means to be a Muslim woman athlete.

Ons, a Tunisian tennis star, made headlines in 2023 for her groundbreaking achievements, including being the 

first Arab woman to reach a Grand Slam final

. Her success on the international stage has inspired many, exemplifying how talent and determination can transcend cultural and religious boundaries.

Both Ons and Fitriya, who founded the Toronto 

, have garnered significant attention, not only for their athletic prowess but also for their roles as cultural icons.

Ons, in particular, has been vocal about the perception of female athletes, famously 

, "I'm not a model. I'm an athlete, and people should focus more on my athleticism rather than my clothes." This statement resonates profoundly in the context of Muslim women in sports, where athletes often face additional scrutiny over their appearance and attire.

Fitriya's emergence in professional basketball has been equally impactful. Her presence on the court challenges the conventional image of a basketball player, offering a new perspective on what Muslim women can achieve in sports.

Together, Ons and Fitriya are not just excelling in their fields; they are pioneers shaping a more inclusive future in sports, encouraging young Muslim women to pursue their athletic dreams while embracing their identity. Their journeys on the footsteps of Muslim women athletic pioneers like 

, symbolize a significant shift in how Muslim women athletes are viewed and celebrated in the American sports landscape. 

5. Noura Erakat – Professor of Human Rights and Palestinian Academic

When it comes to the Palestinian narrative, many Palestinian academics have come to the forefront to bring perspective and context to the war and to inform the American public about the long history of the Palestinian struggle. Professor of Human Rights 

 at Rutgers University, a social justice activist, and a human rights attorney who’s been speaking truth to power.

,” highlighting the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict and the Palestinian struggle for freedom since the early 1900s. Noura is a board of trustee for the Center for Constitutional Rights. She’s also the co-founding editor of the Jadaliyya, the editorial board of the Journal of Palestine Studies and Human Geography. She’s also produced documentaries about Gaza and done numerous 

6. NPR and ABC correspondents Leila Fadel and Asma Khalid – asking the hard questions.

When it comes to putting news in perspective and covering national politics, Leila Fadel, Morning Edition anchor and host of news podcast Up First, and Asma Khalid, White House correspondent and co-host of the NPR Politics Podcast as well as a contributor for ABC News have you covered. Leila is a Lebanese-American reporter who has covered race reporting and American Muslim stories and reported in the Middle East as an international correspondent.

Now she’s reporting on the Israel-Hamas war with stories such as the increase of 

, the psychological impacts of dehumanizing Palestinians, and the impacts of women not having access to reproductive healthcare in Gaza

7. Digital Content-Creator Zainab Jiwa – winner of the U.K. Women in Media award.

London-based digital content creator Zainab Jiwa is no stranger to making a splash in the fashion world. Zainab was awarded the 

Women in Media award at the 2023 U.K. Muslim Women Awards

, which celebrates high achievers, role models and advocates in the Muslim world. Along with makeup videos and digital content creation, she’s recently served as the 

red carpet social host for the BAFTA TV Awards

 in the U.K.. Zainab has worked with brands like Nike, H&M, and Mac. 

8. Rahma and Muna – co-founders of the first ever conference addressing Black Muslim women's hair care needs.

) have become notable figures in the U.K. for their innovative approach to addressing Black Muslim women's unique hair care needs through their "

. The event was a pioneering platform dedicated to celebrating and educating about the distinctive hair types common among Black Muslim women.

Recognizing the often-overlooked intersection of cultural and religious identity in hair care, the conference aimed to 

empower attendees with knowledge, techniques, and products tailored to their needs

. Rahma and Muna's commitment to this cause goes beyond mere discussions about hair. They are forging a community where Black Muslim women can openly embrace and care for their natural hair, challenging mainstream beauty standards that often marginalize their unique hair types.

Through the conference, they provided practical hair care solutions and discussed topics like managing the rules of 

with textured hair. They fostered a sense of pride and solidarity among Black Muslim women, highlighting the importance of inclusive representation in the beauty industry. Their work exemplifies a broader movement towards embracing diversity and inclusivity in personal care and beauty in Muslim culture. 

9. Nusrat Choudhury –  first Muslim woman and Bangladeshi American to serve as a federal judge.

Bangladeshi American Nusrat Choudhury became the first 

Muslim Bangladeshi American to become a federal judge

 when she was named federal judge for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern Court of New York in July of 2023. Nusrat was nominated to her seat by the Biden administration in 2022, a nomination supported by social liberty and Muslim groups. 

Prior to her new role, she served as the legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in Illinois, where she worked on issues such as criminal justice, government surveillance of Muslims, and policing. Nusrat will now serve in 

one of the largest Muslim and Bangladeshi communities

10. Sudanese Muslim women leading humanitarian response in Sudan crisis.

, Sudanese Muslim (and other) women have stepped forward as formidable leaders in orchestrating the humanitarian response, showcasing remarkable resilience and determination. Their leadership is most prominently exemplified by the 

Peace for Sudan initiative, a grassroots movement spearheaded primarily by women

. This initiative stands as a beacon of hope and resilience, aiming to tackle the multifaceted humanitarian challenges that plague the country. 

It's purpose extends beyond providing immediate aid and relief; it is a concerted effort towards cultivating long-term peace and stability within Sudan. The initiative reflects a deep understanding of the local context and the specific needs of the affected communities, ensuring that the humanitarian response is effective and inclusive.

The involvement of Sudanese Muslim women in conceiving and leading the Peace for Sudan initiative, like those whose stories 

 holds profound significance. They represent a powerful challenge to traditional gender roles in a region where women's participation in public and political spheres is often limited. By stepping into leadership roles, these women are changing perceptions and ensuring that humanitarian efforts are attuned to the nuanced needs of all community members, especially women and children, who are often the most vulnerable in conflict situations.

Their role in the Peace for Sudan initiative underscores the importance of including women in conflict resolution and peacebuilding processes. This approach demonstrates that effective and sustainable solutions to crises are more likely when diverse voices, particularly those of women directly impacted by these crises, are included in the decision-making process.

Activists, Scientists, Athletes, Journalists – Meet 10 Notable Muslim Women in 2023

 It's time for our annual #LikeYouMeanItHH end-of-the-year reflection time when we discuss what it means to renew our intentions around hijab and various aspects of our lives. While in past years, we’ve reflected on what it means to "wear it [hijab] like you mean it," this year, that focus felt too narrow and out-of-touch with the realities of our current world and lives. These are difficult, challenging, painful, somber times - for a number of reasons. And we want to explore what it means to live and focus “like you mean it” against the backdrop of everything we are enduring. We invite you (and ourselves) to renew our intentions and reflect on what our faith, families, and commitment to fighting for justice mean to us.

As Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank (and other places) are undergoing genocide and constant war and bombardment in the weeks since October 7, with thousands upon thousands of Palestinians and children martyred and millions more displaced from the rubble of their homes, so many of us around the world are learning  impactful lessons through the immense strength and faith of Palestinians.

 after losing their children to bombings. We are seeing  medical professionals risk  and lose their lives to give every single last bit of care that they can give to their patients. We are bearing witness to parents writing their names and their children's names on the limbs of their sons and daughters, so they might be identified if their body is blown up in the yet another bombing attack. We are seeing journalists providing coverage of the war losing their lives at an alarming rate.

And through it all, we are seeing in real time the almost other worldly faith and strength of Palestinians as they face genocide and destruction, their utter reliance on Allah (S) to protect them and provide them justice either in this life or the next. We see non-Muslims reading the Quran and making videos on social media, trying to understand where this trust in Allah and faith is coming from. 

Bearing witness to all this is changing us. Something is happening, and as we explore the depths of what is important to us and where our intentions like in this month around our #LikeYouMeanItHH campaign, we asked you a question: 

What you have learned from Palestinians the past two months?

1. I think collectively our perspective on what it truly means to have 

Tawakkul is defined as "the belief in the sufficiency of Allah (God) that invokes patience and efforts to achieve goals while accepting the outcomes unconditionally." Palestinians are a living embodiment of this.

2. It has given me a new purpose to my postgrad research - humanity in political economy.

Alhamdullilah. We hope this research will help affect positive change.

3. Oppressors say truth and justice are complicated. It isn't; it's covered up and we accept.

So true. Of course to understand the history of the region and what has happened, one must read, gather information, seek resources and take the time to learn and understand. But at the end of the day, oppression isn't a complicated thing to understand.

has engrained in my soul. I will live by this.

"Allah is enough for me, and  He is the disposer of my affairs." Indeed once we truly accept that for ourselves, we can face anything. We will experience pain and grief, but we know Allah (S)'s plan is greater.

for others. I am reevaluating my life what I do and don't do.

Alhamdullilah sister. That's what our #LikeYouMeanItHH campaign is all about. What really matters to us? Why is social justice and fighting oppression important? What matters to us in our faith? The rest is 

6. Palestine liberated me of my worldly desires of more money, bigger house. It changed me to the core.

Ameen, ameen, ameen. We think this has been happening for so many of us. There's nothing wrong in  having nice things, but what benefit is there in always desiring more material goods and focusing solely on that? We must center deen and balance it with dunya. 

after three years, despite my personal issues with God. I did for the Palestinians.

Alhamdullilah. So many of us are becoming more regular and stronger in our prayer, even praying tahajjud. 

has increased tremendously, Alhamdullilah.

It's like we all are being shown that anything can happen, anything can be taken from us . Our lives and loved ones aren't promised to us. So we return to dhikr and prayer.

9. I feel like Palestine is literally re-wiring my  entire brain. Forever changed.
