It’s in the chilly month of January, when the winter holidays are behind us and all the work we put off until the new year must be dealt with, that we can’t help but think about the coming of spring. Spring 2024 color trends are out and the Pantone 2024 color of the year is a beauty that is already in rotation in our Haute Hijab collections – Peach Fuzz! “A velvety and gentle peach. Sensitive but sweet and airy. Softly nestled between pink and orange.” This is how Pantone is describing the trendy hue, called Pantone 13-1023, of 2024.

For 25 years now, Pantone has been convening with a group of global color analysts to select a singular shade that will sum up the year. These largely anonymous decision makers meet in “white-walled rooms to avoid any accidental influence over color discussions, remain largely anonymous. “I can’t tell you the names,” David Shah, a publisher and designer who runs the meetings, told WNYC in a 2011 article. “They’re involved with everything from furniture through to clothing and knitwear.”

The choosing of the color of the year is influenced by a number of things, from “trends in the entertainment industry to emerging lifestyles and upcoming sporting events,” said Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute in this article. “To arrive at the selection each year, our team of color experts at the Pantone color institute comb the world looking for new color influences.”

Peach Fuzz was chosen this year not just based on analyzing the usual trends, but more so in response to global turmoil. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute said in a statement that “An idea as much as a feeling, Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz awakens our senses to the comforting presence of tactility and cocooned warmth.”
