Before Ramadan began, I talked about the five top pre-Ramadan prep trend that families were doing, the top one being making a masjid area in a corner of the house where one’s child(ren) could “read Quran, pray, maybe do dhikr on a tasbeeh or just hang out.”
For those families who could not attend the masjid this year, having a masjid in the corner of their house or garden dedicated for Ramadan reflection, activity and prayer, has been a blessing. Some of you decorated a dedicated area for that masjid-feeling. Others utilized a kid-sized cardboard masjid structure, like what we carry at Eid Creations, to help their kids get excited for Ramadan.
To make it more fun, we asked families to personalize their Eid Creations playhouse masjids by turning it into a family fun event. We offered a $50 gift certificate for the best styled masjid, and the winner is being revealed on our IG Stories @eidcreations! We were sent so many beautiful photos of masjids decorated by kids and families! Check out some of the creative, fun and beautiful efforts below!.
1. Inspired by Masjid Nasir Al Mulk. An 8-year-old recreated the stained glass faux effect.

2. Inspired by the Blue Mosque in Turkey, this masjid was stenciled a cobalt blue and turquoise with gold accents.

3. This playhouse masjid was sent to Amnah Ibrahim, and we knew that she would turn it into a beautiful masterpiece. Below is her stenciled arabesque design!

4. Anam @anamm21 went a whole mile with her kids when it came to decorating their cardboard mosque! Instead of a corner, she dedicated the entire room for the masjid.

5. This was a wonderful community effort: @ramadanReady_libraryproject, a nonprofit and community-based initiative to bring Ramadan and Eid awareness to public libraries, was invited to Pretend City in Irvine, California to help families celebrate Ramadan. The program attracted guests from all over California, some who drove more than 80 miles to participate. As an activity, they did papier mache to decorate the masjid playhouse.

7. This cute set up was made by Asiya (@asiyaxo), incorporating pompoms and banners.

8. This creative genius called her project “Pandemic Ramadan,” which was all about creating a cozy atmosphere.

We were so excited to see how many people enjoyed the playhouse masjid. The winner will be announced in our IG stories @EidCreations. We have 20 more masjids left for this season, and we are offering them for 40 percent off, so get them while they last! Thank you to everyone who decorated a masjid and participated in the contest!
