Are you ready for a hijab with a little texture and a hint of some volume married to the gentle heft and drape of a luxe fabric? We’re so excited to bring you our brand new
Fine Pleat Hijab collection, which is nothing like any hijab we’ve carried before at Haute Hijab!
The new
Fine Pleat Hijab collection comes in three beautiful colors: Onyx, Latte and Tea Rose. These colors were intentionally selected for their versatility, each acting as a neutral of its own. The fine pleats on these hijabs will add sophistication to any outfit, especially with the addition of a delicate branded gold metal bar sewn into the hem instead of our regular black HH label.
So what are pleats?
Pleats are a
type of fold in a fabric that can take on many looks, the basic being when the fabric is “folded back on itself, thereby creating an accordion-like appearance.” While we didn’t invent pleated hijabs, what elevates ours is the stunning crepe fabric, which has a special weight and drape to it that doesn’t make it feel overly heavy on your head but rather has a luxurious feel in how it brings an understated texture to your look with an elegant drape.
This hijab is also 100 percent opaque and does not need to be folded or doubled to be worn. It also runs shorter than our standard hijab size, at 60 X 16 inches, providing enough material for beautiful coverage while not so much that you find yourself having to wrap this hijab multiple times.
Fine Pleat Hijab - Tea Rose
Our Fine Pleat Hijabs elevate your everyday style with a luxurious micropleat on sturdy crepe fabric expertly created to last. A chic gold metal plate adds an extra touch of sophistication to complement the lush drape and elegant design of this special collection. Versatile and completely opaque for easy styling, it comes in a beautiful lavender-rose hue that complements virtually any skin tone.
How do I care for and store this hijab?
A special hijab like this requires special care! Like any luxury fabric, this hijab is dry clean only to maintain the crispness of the pleats. It shouldn’t wrinkle as you wear it, but if needed, you can lightly steam it to refresh the pleats. For storing, we recommend gently folding this hijab or hanging it for storage.
Why does this hijab cost more?
All materials for our
Fine Pleat Hijabs were sourced and produced in an ethical manner as upheld by the manufacturing factory we have partnered with, which does unfortunately increase the cost of production. The pleating technique that is applied to the fabric adds additional labor cost. This collection is also produced by a factory that adheres to
Bluesign certification. In a nutshell, Bluesign certified means the factory that has this certification has undergone extensive evaluations and has to adhere to numerous standards and protocol for sustainability practices, ethical working environments, fair wages and a host of standards as dictated by the United Nations Global Compact.
To be certified takes inspections and costs money, which drives up costs of products. To have this kind of certification also means that HH does not have to worry about labor exploitation, all important things to us. We know that passes on a higher cost to you, but this is a quality product with good ethics behind it. We think it’s worth it in taking care of the amanah Allah (S) has put upon us all.
Yasmin from our Positive Threads campaign is wearing a Fine Pleat hijab in Latte. How do I style this hijab?
We are so excited for the styling possibilities! The beautiful ladies who took part in our Positive Threads campaign modeled these hijabs in a variety of different ways (which you can explore on the product pages!), and we have all sorts of styling videos and tutorials coming your way on our Instagram and other social media platforms!
This hijab pairs well with any of our
Ultimate Underscarves if you want your hair coverage to be extra secure. You can drape it over your head (without having to give it a lengthwise fold), cross it under your chin, secure it (or not, depending on how secure you want it) with one of our
No-Snag Hijab Magnets, and toss one end effortlessly over your shoulder for an easy-breezy style that that is altogether sophisticated, elegant and simple!
Elizabeth Walsh, our Product Development Manager, says “We wanted to make something that was effortless but elegant; something that provides some extra dimension or style element to an outfit.”
