The articles, graphical reminders, social media posts, videos and WhatsApp messages reminding us to make the most of this beautiful Hajj season in the first ten days of Dhul HIjjah are plentiful. As the hadith goes, there are "no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." [Bukhari]
You never knows, however, what pierces your heart, what sticks to your soul. As Melanie writes in her Instagram post, "How generous is our Lord? ... Here's another opportunity to come closer to God, to run to Him, to seek comfort, to feel His immense blessings."
She adds, "While these suggestions are acts of worship, really take the time to take stock of your relationship with Allah (S). Where do you stand with one another? Is there a block? Do you feel ashamed to turn to him? Open your heart and examine the most important relationship in your life: The One you have with God."
Ameen.
Without further ado, here are five ways we can reap the rewards of these beautiful holy days. If it helps you, print out these graphics and pin them up somewhere to remind you and help you pause and focus on your ibadah. (All of the images are created by Haute Hijab.)
1. Strengthen Your Salah
2. Make Time for Remembrance of Allah
3. Fast (Especially on the Day of Arafah)
4. Make Sincere Repentance
5. Increase Your Good Deeds
May we all prioritize our relationship with Allah (S). We wish you the best of deen and dunya during these first ten days of Dhul Hijjah and beyond. May your du'as be answered and your heart be at peace. Ameen.
