Before we know it, this exhausting heat wave will be over and we’ll be whipping out our boots and knits like there’s no tomorrow. Some of us are heading back to school, the office and everywhere in between. No matter what your autumn 2021 plans are, the changing of seasons is a perfect time to try new styles. Layers offer warmth and modest style, and unique accessories can give your outfit the style reboot you crave.

Modest streetstyle absolutely shines this fall, and here are six of my favorite modest style trends in Fall 2021 that you may want to try for yourself!

What I love about styling is that a simple accessory can go a long way. Layering a beret on top of your favorite hijab style is definitely in for fall and can take your outfit from here to there in no time. Jameelat (@meelahxo) uses an elegant beret in a plaid print paired with black, cream and red lip for a classy date night look (take note on how she placed her blazer!).

Meanwhile Tahirah (@sincerelytahiry) does a cool leather beret with sparkly statement specs. And Seher (@jamela_boutique_) is serving bold sleeves and a soft knit beret in a brown and black look I’m calling “caramel latte chic”. I’m personally adding the plaid beret to my cart as we speak!

If there’s one thing you buy this fall, just get a blazer that just works for your body, and watch how it takes a pretty simple outfit and adds instant sophistication. Here are three cool styles from some of my faves on Instagram: a printed blazer, a leather blazer or a colored blazer.

Nada’s (@nadoosa_) black-and-white printed blazer is a perfect bold layering piece for her all-black look. It instantly pulls together her already stylish but simple outfit (notice the stylish front slit on her pants!). Beyza (@itsbeyzo) takes light neutrals to another level with an oversized leather blazer but keeps it comfy with dad sneakers and a baseball cap. And Hafsah (@hafymo) is serving an eye-catching color-blocked look that dances with flavors of fall.

It’s crazy how Y2K fashion has returned to smack us right in the face; and like it or love it, bucket hats are back in style. These ladies are proof that they work with hijab and the loungewear style we have all been wearing both in and outdoors throughout this grueling pandemic!

Shaymaa (@shaymaadarling) is a vision of comfy coziness in her chocolatey sweatshirt and matching brown bucket hat with a turtleneck and loosely draped black chiffon hijab. Zahraa (@zahraa_hberro) adds some fuzzy texture to her outfit with a fur bucket hat you just want to reach out and touch. And, Yasmin (@beautybyyasi) is a monochrome princess, wearing a cozy baby pink hoodie with matching joggers and a sweet pink bucket hat to top it off.

This fall fashion article is becoming very how-to-wear-a-hat-with-hijab, and I don’t mind it at all! This may seem like a weird concept – hat on first then hijab on top of it. But just look at the pictures. Convinced? Thought so! It’s definitely a style I’m seeing more of, and I actually love the ingenuity.

Style is all about thinking outside the box, and Feriida’s (@feriidaay) look is giving “does the box even exist anymore?” vibes! From her fur coat, white liner and NYC cap under a snow leopard print silk scarf – it’s really her show and we are just here to watch! Queen of fashion Rawdah (@rawdis) gives a minimal look with white baseball cap under a simple pull on scarf tucked into her red turtleneck sweater. And hold on – @indoanisa? Are you wearing a knit pull-on as a hijab over an LA cap? How very daring of you! A round of applause for these incredibly stylish ladies.

Of course this lookbook would not be complete without a shout out to the longline coat! As soon as the weather dares to dip below 70, modest fashion lovers are running to their coat closets and dusting off their fabulous outerwear. But these trenches are usually not so warm on their own, so why not layer a hoodie underneath? I (@hakeemahcmb) opted for an all-black look with my hoodie dress and paired it with sneakers and a sleek backpack.

One of my absolute faves, Rayya (@_rayyaansari), opted for a bold houndstooth, a hoodie with the image of Nina Simone and a white button down for a cool layered look with three length tiers. Naima (@naiosman) is glowing in shades of white and paired her off-white longline coat with a cream hoodie and chunky stone boots.

The sweater dress has become a go-to in my fall wardrobe for a few years now, but I’m loving the new variations on the maxi-length knit for Fall 2021. For some of women, it may be tough to wear a sweater dress modestly because the elastic stretch of the knit may contour in all the curviest places, so it is refreshing to see Wissam (@wissxo) wearing this oversized, loose-fitting sweater dress that would be accommodating to many body shapes. She looks so comfy!

Fatima (@fatima.b.ibrahim) is a tall mug of hot cocoa in this sweater dress set and matching cardigan, which I also love for coverage and cohesion. And how can I possibly summarize Rowayda (@rowaydakawji)’s incredible sweater dress in one chic statement? Let’s try this – iconically breathtaking. Her’s has a side slit, and so she pairs it with white trousers to keep covered. Let’s take style notes from all three ladies!
