Perfect Satin in Evergreen
With graduation and wedding season starting up (and more and more of us vaccinated and able to go out and safely see more people now, Alhamdulillah), planning for dressy ensembles requires a hijab that has that perfect mix of glam, sophistication and comfort. Well, they’re called Perfect Satin for a reason!
Our Perfect satin is medium-thick, fully opaque and has a brilliant shine that’s perfect for formal looks (or bringing that extra oomph to an everyday outfit). It has a silky finish that works best when worn with one of our Ultimate Underscarves and No Snag Hijab Magnets and has the benefit of being the right weight and weave to drape beautifully around the face and body.
Perfect Satin - Rose Taupe
Fit for a queen. Our satin comes in a medium-thick weight with a liquid shine and gorgeous drape that’s a must for formal events and everyday glam. It comes in a goes-with-anything taupe hue with a pink undertone that's the perfect addition to your hijab collection.
Satin is such an interesting weave. It’s not a fabric per se, but rather a fabric weave that produces the look and feel of what we know as satin. As we wrote in our post, “Everything You Need to Know About Our Perfect Satins,” the raw material used to produce our Perfect Satin hijabs is polyester. The special weave used to form the polyester into these beautiful hijabs is what gives them that beautiful sheen and smooth touch.
Some interesting facts about satin:
1. Satin was first woven by the silk weavers in China.
2. Modern satin has many different weaves, even the affordable variety with synthetic thread.
3. Centuries ago, satin was only used by the rich, for royal robes.
4. A lot of accessories are being made out of satin, including purses, clutches, sashes, scarves and, of course, hijabs.
5. Fun fact: the word “satin” is thought to have come from the word “zaitun,” the Arabic name for the Chinese port Quanzhou, where the satin weave first originated over 2,000 years ago!
Since they are 100 percent polyester, our Satins are also breathable and have a bit of stretch to them. Although the smooth texture makes them more slippery than other fabrics, they’re a great choice for more delicate hair since the lack of texture protects hair against friction. It’s for this reason we debuted our Satin-lined Silk Underscarf last month, to be more protective of natural and other hair textures.
